A: As depilatory creams have to be very alkaline and use special ingredients to dissolve the hair, they can sometimes cause irritation to sensitive skin which is why we always recommend a patch test to ensure your skin is suitable for treatment with a depilatory cream.
It is important to patch test the area you wish to treat as some areas are more sensitive than others. Check the precautions on the pack to ensure the area you wish to treat is suitable for treatment with a depilatory cream. You only need to do a patch test once.
Our products are categorized by a colour coding system. Waxes are purple with complete instructions of exactly how to use them and prep the skin. Our creams are divided into pink for regular skin types, blue for ultra-sensitive skin types, orange for intimate areas, and black with orange for men. Our medicinal products are green and our strips are colour coded according to type.

A: Ingrown hairs don’t always occur. Check the area approx. 24 hours after waxing. Ingrown hair serum should be used couple of days after hair removal treatment to minimise irritations and bumps. Always wait at least 24 hours after hair removal before applying Hairgo Ingrown hair serum.
A: The spatulas and precision shaping stick can be used for precision application of the hard wax close to the bikini shape and for finishing touches after removing the shape. Makes it easier to wax.
A: The main reason for this is that you may have applied the wax too thinly. Important to note is that the hair needs to be completely covered. Also, the wax may have been left on the skin too long. The wax only need to be left on for a few seconds until you are able to lift the corners and pull off. The wax should be pliable when removed (not brittle).
A: If you have extremely sensitive skin or diabetic you may not be able to tolerate waxing or depilatory cream use. Please discontinue use and return the product
Do you have any prior experience in waxing? Either with cold wax, warm wax or hard wax? It is important in particularly sensitive areas like the bikini, that you practice on a less sensitive area first like your leg to get the feel of how to wax first and then move onto the bikini area.
Hair length is important when deciding to wax. Need to make sure the hair is not longer than 3mm otherwise trim before waxing. Longer hair will be more painful to remove and you might experience bruising/swelling/irritation.
Remember to always keep the skin taut as you pull the wax off. This is essential to prevent bruising/swelling/irritation.
The direction of the wax is important - you need to pull the wax up rather than close to the skin. If you don’t this can cause bruising/swelling/irritation.
Did you go over the same area more than twice? Do not re-wax the area if your skin is irritated or red. Allow your skin to settle before going over it again.
If none of the above are reasons why your skin is bruised, irritated or red, then unfortunately some people are more susceptible to bruising/swelling/irritation than others, this is why we recommend you try the wax on a small area first and wait for 24 hours before commencing treatment.

A: It all depends on the area you are treating - the more sensitive the area, the smaller the treated area should be. In very sensitive areas, we recommend you do not put on more than 2 to 3 cm at a time. You can treat large patches such as legs up to 10 cm at a time.
Legs strips are resuable. However, facial wax strips and bikini wax strips are not reusable
From our experience, it is not usually the ingredients that cause irritations but we always recommend following the instructions on the pack to perform a patch test at least 24 hours before proceeding with full application.
It's quite normal to experience a little redness or spots with any wax, especially if you're new to it. Occasionally if the Gel is applied too thickly, you may experience a little irritation or even bruising if you've needed to tug at the skin to remove the strip or not held the skin taut as you've removed the strip it may cause a rash.
You can use post wax gel or cream which will soothe your skin.
NOTE: If you have a skin condition, always check the precautions in the instruction leaflet to ensure yours is a suitable skin type.
A: There are a number of reasons for this:
- The hair is not at least 3-5mm long
- The area is not clean and free from makeup (Facial wax) and moisturisers
- The area has not been allowed to dry after using Cleansing Wipes, or after a shower or bathing (wait at least 1 hour to allow the moisture level in the skin to return to normal)
- The strip has not rbeen emoved in the opposite direction of hair growth, or is removed in an upward direction rather than close to and parallel with the skin
- The skin was not held taut when the strip was removed.
Microwaves vary tremendously, so does wax . factors that effect melting time is also dependent on the weather. The type of wax and the watts of the the microwave are crucial.
Follow the instructions on the box or the videos on the website as this gives a guideline as to how many minutes or seconds the wax should be in the microwave. Keep an eye on the wax while it is in the microwave because it can easily over run. Make sure you use an old microwave plate to put the cartridge on or the wax cup in case the wax does spill over.
Put the product (wax mug or cartridge) back in the microwave for 10-30 second increments until it has the consistency of thick honey. You might find that there is a ‘hot spot’ in the jar – a spot where the wax is completely fluid with hard wax around it. Leave the wax for 1 minute and then gently stir it mixing the more fluid parts with the hard parts.
NOTE: Please remember to test a little bit on the inside of your wrist to check the temperature before proceeding with the treatment.
